Welcome to T3

Welcome to the Tampa Tri Team! Our team triathletes are all members of the Tampa YMCA with homebase being the Bob Sierra YMCA located on Northdale Blvd in the North Tampa, Carrollwood area, although our athletes are located all over the city and workout together in all of the Tampa Metro YMCA branches.

Our club is a social network all about building the relationships, along with building our endurance. We communicate mostly through email and our triathlon club boards posted in our branch facilities. In order to be added to our tri team email list, email Monika Cassidy at T3TriTeam@gmail.com.  During season, Monika will send out weekly emails communicating race results, upcoming clinics, guest speakers, social events, gear for sale, etc.

Our club offers members the opportunity to train at multiple different facilities with many different triathletes.  The Bob Sierra location offers TWO FREE training programs each year.  Our beginner sprint training program is geared towards athletes who have never raced before – our target race is in August.  Our Olympic distance program is geared towards the intermediate triathlete ready to step up their game a little – our target race is St. Anthony’s.  These programs are written and led by triathlon coach, Lisa Sandusky.

These schedules change periodically, so make sure to check them often.  We do offer several Spinning classes that are taught by triathletes, certified triathlon coaches and certified cycling coaches. Additionally, we offer some great Masters Swim programs.  As for running, each branch offers group runs at a variety of different times, the largest group meets downtown on Saturday mornings at 5:30am outside the Tampa Metro YMCA - The Blue Sharks group.  We also offer some awesome strength, Pilates and Yoga classes that are great for triathletes cross-training.
